In ADNTRO, 2024 has been a year of innovation, learning and growth. We have worked tirelessly to bring you new tools and reports that expand the knowledge about your DNA and its impact on your life.
Here is a summary of everything we have achieved together 🧬
Nutrigenetics
- Intolerance to histamine (DAO):Did you know that if you get a headache when you drink cheese or wine, you may be histamine intolerant? In this new report, we discover how your body metabolizes histamine and what role your genes and the DAO enzyme play in all this.
- Caffeine and alcohol metabolism: We discovered how your genetic variants affect the breakdown of compounds such as alcohol and caffeine.
- Analysis of variants of the MTHFR gene: this gene plays a crucial role in the breakdown (metabolism) of folate or vitamin B9 as well as enabling the creation of a compound (methyl group) necessary for methylation. We have included a detailed analysis of this key gene for folate metabolism.
- Glucose Metabolism: we explore the relationship between your DNA and the management of blood sugar, providing you with tools to better understand your metabolism.
Health
- We updated the report on Disorder of Anxiety. The new information on this disorder and its relationship with genetics is incorporated.
- We update the result of Myocardial infarction with a more recent study published in one of the best scientific journals.
- Preeclampsia: new report allows women to know their genetic predisposition to develop preeclampsia.
Personality
- Ranking of genetic skills: did you know that your DNA has something to do with whether you are better at mathematics, reading or music? We discover your genetic ability ranking.
- Warrior or worried: The innate response of different individuals to stressful situations depends on the gene COMT. In ADNTRO we tell you if you are a warrior or a worrier according to your genetics and what you can learn from it.
Pharmacogenetics
- Antiallopecia drugs: We discovered the effectiveness that the use of drugs against alopecia like minoxidil, dutasteride and finasteride.
- Saxenda: glucagon-like peptide type 1 (GLP1) agonists, the same as Ozempic. We explore how your DNA may influence your response to certain treatments for weight loss.
Labs
- Genetic predisposition to have high levels of Coenzyme Q10: There are rare genetic deficiencies of coenzyme Q10 associated with noticeable symptoms in energy-intensive tissues or cell types such as kidneys or neurons.
- We update the result of Biological aging (Telomeres) with a more recent study.
- Chronotype: Human beings have internal cycles that regulate bodily functions, such as sleep. This is called a chronotype, and knowing it can help you to understand your natural rhythms and optimize your daily routine.
New section: Fact of the month
We launched a new section where every month we discover a new piece of information for our subscribers. Among them, we have explored the sensitivity to fish odor, the love for sweetness and many more surprises to come.
Thank you for joining us on this journey ❤️ We are excited for what the coming year will bring!

Outstanding participations
- In February our Nutrigenetics Area Lead, Marta Alonso, participated in the III Congress CoJIIN (Congress of Young Researchers in Nutrition), contributing to a stimulating round table on the integration of scientific evidence into clinical nutrition practice.
- In MarchADNTRO Genetics stands out as one of the three companies benefiting from the initiative of the Balearic Islands Ministry of Health.1.8 million euros to 16 research and innovation projects in biomedicine and biotechnology for the period 2024-2027. Specifically, ADNTRO's project "NeuroPRS", is focused on the study of Alzheimer's disease in the Balearic population.
- Also in March, our CTO and Co-Founder Jorge Blom-Dahl was interviewed in Aquiseemprende of Capital Radio.
- In April, Guillermo Pérez-Solero, CEO of ADNTRO, participated in TEDxArxiduc with a talk on the wonderful world of genetics.
- In September, we received the support of Bio Tech Smart Capital to follow growing and advancing our mission, an investment that will allow us to strengthen N-GENE our genetic analysis engine specifically designed to help healthcare professionals harness the full potential of genetics in clinical practice.
- In October, our bioinformatics Sandra Ferreiro presented a poster at the first congress of the Spanish Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (SEBiBC) on the Development of a Predictive Model for Alzheimer's Disease Based on Genetic Variants and Phenotypic Variables.
- In November, Guillermo participated in the Mindfacts podcast to explore all the possibilities of DNA sequencing and how it will transform our daily lives. In addition, our nutrigenetics Ph.D. participated in a round table organized by 'Mi empresa es saludable', where he spoke about ways to prevent neurodegenerative diseases and improve mental well-being.
- We closed the year with our CSO, Jair Tenorio, participating in the table on Precision Phenotyping in the Conference "Anticipating the Medicine of the Future", organized by the Observatory of Trends in the Medicine of the Future of the Foundation Roche Institute.
