Ancient ancestral information
The ancient ancestors of modern people without African heritage emigrated from Africa about 70,000 years ago.
But they weren't alone because at least two other species of hominin cousins walked the Eurasian landmass: Neanderthals and Denisovans.
As our ancestors migrated across Eurasia, they came into contact with Neanderthals and mongrels. Thus, a small amount of Neanderthal DNA was introduced into the modern human gene pool.

Genetic diversity
Discover your heterozygosity ratio, a measure of genetic variability highly influenced by the level of genetic mixing of the population, which varies in different human populations.
According to an original study, in a population with European origins, greater genetic variability is synonymous with protection against recessive diseases.
How is the heterozygosity ratio calculated?
To calculate the heterozygosity ratio, the number of heterozygotes in an individual is divided by the number of non-ancestral homozygotes in the reference genome.
