The laboratory<\/span> analyzes the sample using the technique <strong>Global Screening Array<\/strong>and provides us with the data that we process at ADNTRO in order to be able to provide<span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">you all the content that you will see in the <\/span><a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" style=\"font-size: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/app.adntro.com\/samples\/dashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">demo of our website<\/mark><\/a><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does the laboratory analyze the saliva sample?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the sample are <strong>cells of the wall of the mouth<\/strong> that were washed away by saliva. These cells contain the DNA that will be analyzed by the technique of <strong>Global Screening Array.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the DNA is extracted through a procedure that breaks the cell membranes and separates the internal components, leaving only the <strong>Purified DNA<\/strong>. This DNA will be cloned thousands of times using the technique <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polymerase_chain_reaction\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">PCR<\/span><\/a><\/strong> and replacing the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nucleotide\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\">nucelotides<\/span><\/a> natural for a few <strong>fluorescently labeled. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then the DNA will be fragmented into small pieces or regions. These regions include specific genes that will allow us to find out, depending on what <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-light-green-cyan-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/adntro.com\/en\/blog\/learn-genetics\/what-are-snps\/\">SNPs<\/a><\/mark> (variants of a nucleotide) <\/strong>have, possible phenotypic characteristics such as eye color, a food intolerance or a specific ethnic origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a DNA chip in a Global Screening Array?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, a solid surface of about 2 x 2 cm called <strong>DNA chip<\/strong>. The chip contains 700,000 positions or wells in which a <strong>DNA probe<\/strong> for each specific SNP. This is a DNA sequence that corresponds to the part of a gene in which a specific SNP is found. In this way, the sample DNA fragment is bound to the probe. As the probe is fixed to the plate, we can wash the chip and the sample fragment will not be removed, unless it does not contain the SNP variant of the probe, in which case it will be eliminated with the wash as it has not hybridized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After incubation and washing, <strong>It&#039;s analized<\/strong> <strong>the chip with a machine capable of recognizing fluorescence<\/strong> in all positions.
