Die R\u00f6mer nannten sie Mauretanier. Heutzutage sind sie als <strong>Amaziges<\/strong> (oder Berber, eher ungebr\u00e4uchlich) f\u00fcr eine Gruppe von Menschen bekannt, die zu einer Gruppe von <strong>nordafrikanischen Ethnien<\/strong> geh\u00f6ren. Aufgrund einer Anpassung des Spanischen wird dieses Gebiet auch als Maghreb bezeichnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Amazigh unterteilen sich in eine Vielzahl ethnischer Gruppen, darunter die Rif\u00e9, Kabyle, Guanchen und Tuareg. Sie haben ein eigenes Alphabet und mehrere Sprachen, deren Sprecher vor allem in Marokko und Algerien leben.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"425\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/adntro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/africa-del-norte3.jpg\" alt=\"afrikanische Savanne\" class=\"wp-image-6834\" style=\"width:548px;height:290px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/adntro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/africa-del-norte3.jpg 425w, https:\/\/adntro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/africa-del-norte3-300x159.jpg 300w, https:\/\/adntro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/africa-del-norte3-18x10.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">afrikanische Savanne<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Zahlreiche arch\u00e4ologische St\u00e4tten zeugen von der Anwesenheit von Ph\u00f6niziern, Griechen, R\u00f6mern und \u00c4gyptern in dieser Region, was die gro\u00dfe strategische und wirtschaftliche Bedeutung des Gebiets belegt. Die \u00dcberreste gro\u00dfer r\u00f6mischer St\u00e4dte wie Leptis Magna (in der N\u00e4he von Tripolis) und Timgad (ebenfalls in Algerien), Symbole des antiken klassischen Glanzes in Nordafrika, sind noch gut sichtbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\"><strong>Man darf nicht vergessen, dass zu dieser Region auch europ\u00e4ische Territorien geh\u00f6ren, wie z.B. die Kanarischen Inseln, Ceuta und Melilla (Spanien) und Madeira (Portugal)<\/strong>. Die Guanchen, die Ureinwohner der Kanarischen Inseln, sind genetisch eng mit den Berbern auf dem Festland verwandt, die wiederum <strong>genetische \u00c4hnlichkeiten mit den Mitteleurop\u00e4ern<\/strong> haben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Mehrheitsreligion ist der Islam mit mehr als 95%, obwohl es in \u00c4gypten auch kleine christliche Gemeinschaften (meist orthodoxe) und in geringerem Umfang Juden gibt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" translation-block\">Schlie\u00dflich ist noch die <strong>gro\u00dfe Vielfalt der in dieser Region gesprochenen Sprachen<\/strong> zu erw\u00e4hnen. Neben den einheimischen Berbersprachen und dem Standardarabisch gibt es die von den europ\u00e4ischen Kolonisatoren eingef\u00fchrten Sprachen.
